The first thirteen chapters of this book, giving fundamental concepts, underlying physics and relevant principles, are grouped into three parts: I, introduction and recapitulation of thermodynamics; II, thermodynamic analysis of refrigeration cycles and refrigerants, III, psychrometrics, cooling and heating load calculations, design and balancing of system components. Chapter 14, is on applications. The up-to-date developments in various refrigeration systems are presented in chronological order. The SI units are followed throughout besides the use of ton unit of refrigeration. A number of examples are worked out to apply the application of theories. A set of questions and problems with answers appended at the end of selected reading materials for various chapters assist users to go into the latest developments.
