The book, published by INGV e IPGP, tells the story through images paleoseismology, a branch of research that aims to understand past earthquakes through the traces they have left in geological sediments, in order to improve forecasts for the future. The volume collects images e studi of paleoseismological excavations conducted in different parts of the world by Italian and international colleagues, and aims to document the variability of stratigraphy and structures in different tectonic environments.
